Reflections of 2025 March 8th Gala

The funds raised will go a long way in helping us continue ministering to our unhoused friends and those struggling with substance use disorder. Your generosity allows us to provide essential items like toiletries, food, and clothing—along with sharing God's love and reminding them they are not forgotten.
A special thank you to artist Dave Cote for his powerful painting, I Have a Name. This piece truly represents our mission—honoring the individuals we meet on the streets and in encampments. They have names; they are someone's mother, father, sibling, son, or daughter. When I saw that the painting hadn't been bid on, I immediately reached out. Having experienced homelessness myself, I understand the struggles many face. While some seek handouts, countless others simply need a hand up—and that's what we strive to provide.
I was thrilled to receive the painting, which will be displayed at our ministry events, on our Facebook page, and at our Blessing of the Bikes in May.

From the elegant venue to the heartfelt speeches, every detail was beautifully executed to support an incredible cause. The organizers did a phenomenal job creating an atmosphere of compassion and unity, bringing together individuals who truly care about making a difference. The silent auction, raffles, and fundraising activities were engaging and well-organized, showcasing the generosity of attendees and sponsors. The stories shared throughout the night were both moving and motivational, reminding everyone why their contributions matter. Overall, the gala was a resounding success, leaving guests feeling inspired and eager to continue supporting the mission. March 16, 2024: A guest's reflection
Attendees of the Help Us Help Others Gala were encouraged to dress in formal evening attire..
This seemed to bring out their creativity as seen in gold shoes, berets, tuxedos, gowns, strapless
and strapped, and even a face in masquerade.
Gorgeous candelabras graced the tables with formality. Abundant fresh flowers punctuated the
formal atmosphere. Full grown trees seem to grow in the foreground of the raffle area.
Heartfelt speeches were spoken by HUHO award givers and recipients. There was a hush in the
audience as they listened to each speech.
A delicious dinner included "just right" asparagus and tender steak while Esmirna Ortiz
accompanied Andrew Gaydos, Lyric Baritone.
The dance floor was enthusiastically used by the young and not so young. All evening the
friendly atmosphere allowed old friends to enjoy each other and new friends to have many
opportunities to socialize.
Donations will be put to good use to Help Us Help Others in renewing communities and
restoring lives during 2024.
